Far Cry 2 Trailer HD

Far Cry 2 is obviously the sequel to Far Cry. The most recent release date I’ve seen for it is January 3, 2008.

Far Cry was developed by Crytek but they are apparently not involved with Far Cry 2. It’ is an open ended, non linear FPS with one giant area rather than a succession of maps. According to the Wikipedia entry for the title, “the gameplay area will be around 50 km2. Some members of the Ubisoft Montreal team spent 2 weeks in several locations in Africa filming and photographing native wildlife. The team will use the animal footage and environment photos to create an extremely realistic environment.” So that sounds pretty cool.

The game looks fantastic graphically, and according to MEGATONik Far Cry 2’s producer Louis-Pierre Pharand, says the single player campaign could last up to 50 hours.
